After considerable interest from Society members who met up last week, we have decided to complete our winter film series, shortened though it was by covid-19 circumstances, as originally planned with a short notice screening of Ken Loach’s 1969 film Kes.
Based on the novel Kestrel for a Knave by Barry Hines, Kes follows the story of a young working class boy in 1960s England growing up in a Yorkshire coal mining town.
The film will be briefly introduced by our Yorkshireman in Residence, Martin Crick.
Please note that under level 2 attendees will need to follow the various requirements for events of this nature. We will be starting the film promptly as the run time is 1hr50
